It has been reported that the father of the well-known Kamba gospel music singer Fortune Mwikali was murdered with a panga.
On Wednesday morning, a farm labourer discovered corpse of Musyoka Mutonya, also known as Ndekele. He was 75 years old.
The body was found laying outside of his home in Katia village, which is located in the Nguuku location of Mumoni subcounty in Kitui.
When the corpse was discovered, it was covered in a pool of blood and had a large panga cut on the skull, as stated by Mutuku Mwinzi, the assistant chief of Katia.
“It is not apparent who murdered the elderly guy or the reason for the crime,” the statement said. The assistant chief stated that the elderly man was alone in his residence on Tuesday night when he was sleeping.
Another thing that he said was that his wife, who lives in a separate home only a few meters away from his husband’s residence, was the one who reported the murder of the guy.
The administrator said, “The wife of the deceased reported to me that this morning her farm help went to her husband’s home and discovered him lying dead outside.” The deceased man’s wife had reported this information to the administrator.
He said that it seemed as if the individuals accused of murder had left their shoes around fifty meters away from the residence of the dead individual before entering his residence and cutting him to death.
“As soon as we got to the residence, we tracked some traces, which eventually turned out to be shoe imprints.
“It is abundantly evident that the perpetrators of the horrible conduct approached the abandoned home on foot in order to carry out the atrocity,” claimed the witness.
When Mwinzi was speaking to journalists over the phone at around ten in the morning, the authorities had not yet secured the corpse.
Mwikali expressed her sorrow at the loss of her father in a post on Facebook.
“Someone should attempt to wake me up,” she said. “I am dreaming,” she shared with media.
