Asian Businessman Claims Fraudulent Land Takeover, Eastleigh

A businessman of Asian descent is reportedly crying foul after a land fraudster allegedly invaded his plot in Eastleigh’s 12th Street area.

Khan Abdul Khalil is said to have been dispossessed of the plot by a man of Ethiopian origin who claims ownership of the property.

This is despite reports indicating that the Ministry of Lands had declared the documents presented by the claimant as forgeries.

On the night of December 23, it is alleged that armed individuals, accompanied by police officers reportedly led by Starehe Sub-County DCIO Stephen Ambani, forcefully took over the property without a court order.

Witnesses say the group fired gunshots into the air and lobbed teargas canisters to intimidate private security guards before seizing control of the premises.

Eastleigh North Police Station reportedly recorded the incident under OB No. 55/23/12/24.

A search from the Ministry of Lands is said to have confirmed that Khan Abdul Khalil remains the legitimate owner of the property.
