Shutting down? Wowzi App late payments, influencers cry

Influencers and content creators collaborating with “Wowzi” are complaining that the African multi-channel media and influencer marketing platform renowned for connecting brands with nano- and micro-influencers is not fulfilling financial commitments.

Some creators have reported completing campaigns successfully, only to encounter unexplained postponements when seeking their dues, with some waiting for months.

Wowzi App influencer said, “There’s a company called Wowzi that collaborates with influencers and content creators to promote campaigns such as events.

“They hire individuals to post content on their social media accounts with the promise of payment once the campaign concludes.

Lately, however, the company has been failing to honour payments without providing valid reasons. Despite confirming that the work was well-executed and complete, they repeatedly tell creators to wait when contacted.

A review of their social media platforms shows this issue is widespread, with numerous complaints in the comment sections about unpaid dues, some stretching over six months.

“This situation is frustrating, especially during the festive season and with January fast approaching, as many had financial plans reliant on the payments.

“Meanwhile, the company’s officials appear to be on vacation, ignoring enquiries and failing to respond to messages. I’ve attached screenshots of what they owe me and their responses. Kindly help expose this matter.”
