Alibaba develops Qwen2.5-Max AI, exceed world expectations

The AI race is not only happening between the US and China but also within China itself. Qwen 2.5 Max betters DeepSeek v3 in quite a few benchmarks.

Alibaba released Qwen 2.5 Max right on the Lunar New Year’s Day, showing the speed with which AI companies are innovating to stay on top.

Alibaba shocked the tech world with Qwen 2.5 Max, its most powerful multimodal AI yet.

Not just AI chat—you can now generate videos, images, and even preview apps with Artifacts.

Alibaba has indeed launched Qwen2.5-Max, which has garnered significant attention for its potential in the AI industry.

According to recent reports, this model is claimed to outperform several leading AI models, including DeepSeek V3, OpenAI’s GPT-4o, and Meta’s Llama-3.1-405B across multiple benchmarks.

Trained on over 20 trillion tokens, Qwen2.5-Max uses a Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) architecture, which allows for high performance with lower computational costs, a significant feature considering the current constraints on AI development resources.

This release is seen as a response to the competitive pressure from other AI breakthroughs, particularly from the rapid rise of DeepSeek, and it underscores Alibaba’s ambition to be at the forefront of AI innovation.

The model’s availability through Alibaba Cloud’s API suggests it’s geared towards enterprise applications, potentially reshaping how businesses integrate AI into their operations.
