Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has caused a lot of discussion by congratulating Azimio leader Raila Odinga publicly, citing Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, who is AUC Djibouti’s candidate, is stepping down.
This comes at a time when there are reports that Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, who is Djibouti’s candidate, may not continue in the race for the African Union Commission (AUC) chairmanship.
This news has made many of Raila’s supporters excited. They believe Kioni’s words mean that Raila is close to winning this important position.
Youssouf, who used to be the Foreign Minister of Djibouti, was seen as a strong competitor in the race. He is up against Richard Randriamandrato from Madagascar.
However, there are reports that Youssouf might withdraw his candidacy, which would make it easier for Raila to get the high position.
There are some sources saying that Youssouf visited Nairobi a few days ago, and this could be why he is considering stepping down.

Additionally, there have been claims that Kenya owes a large amount of money to the family of Djibouti’s first family. As a relative, Youssouf may have made an agreement with the Kenyan government.
Kioni celebrated by saying, “Gini Wasekawo! CONGRATULATIONS BABAMAN,” using a Luo phrase that means “we’ve taken it.” This expression is well-known in Kenya, especially when Gor Mahia FC wins the national league.
