Not Our Secretary General! Roots Party of Kenya fingers Kepher Ojijo

The Roots Party of Kenya has officially stated that it does not support advocate Kepher Ojijo. They accuse him of wrongly claiming to be the party’s secretary general in different media appearances, including a recent interview on Citizen TV.

The party says he has no real authority or official position with them.

The party’s lawyers have sent a letter demanding that Kepher Ojijo take back his statements, apologize publicly in all media, and pay the party Ksh 10 million for the harm caused by his false claims.

Roots Party leader Prof. George Wajackoyah has called Ojijo’s actions dishonest, saying that the party’s leadership roles are clear and that Ojijo has never been Secretary General.

The party’s lawyers also point out that for over two years, Ojijo has intentionally misled the public by calling himself the Secretary-General during many interviews, even though he knows he does not have that role.

They warn that if Ojijo does not meet these demands within seven days, the party will take legal action against him, which could include a lawsuit for damages and a request to stop him from making further claims on behalf of the party.
