Kenyans are suffering from the heat that has hit the country for the past two weeks. Kenya Meteorological Department has stated that from Monday, Kenya will receive heavy rainfall.
Temperatures have been reaching higher levels, up to 28 degrees Celsius in Nairobi and 32 degrees in Mombasa.
The same has been happening in the Northeast, up to 35 degrees. However, the Kenya Meteorological Department has stated that from the 9th or 10th, Kenya will receive heavy rainfall.
The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued an urgent warning of heavy rainfall expected to begin today, March 9, affecting parts of the Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, Nairobi, and southeastern regions.
According to the department, the intensity of the rains is likely to increase on March 10, with the downpour spreading to the northwest.
Counties including Nairobi, Kisumu, Nakuru, and Turkana have been placed on high alert, with authorities urging residents to prepare for potential floods, flash floods, and lightning strikes.
The meteorological agency has advised local governments and communities to take precautionary measures to mitigate risks as the wet weather pattern strengthens.
