Kimani Ichung’wah Reveals How Ndindi Nyoro Build schools

In a startling revelation, National Assembly Minority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah has accused Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro and other unnamed individuals of diverting funds intended for development projects in other regions to construct classrooms in Kiharu Constituency.

The claims, made at the national assembly on Tuesday, have sparked controversy and raised questions about the management of public resources in Kenya.

Ichung’wah, a prominent figure in the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), alleged that Nyoro and his associates siphoned money originally allocated for various constituencies to bolster infrastructure projects in Kiharu, a constituency Nyoro has represented since 2017.

Specifically, the funds were reportedly used to build classrooms, a project that has been widely praised as part of Nyoro’s development agenda in the region.

“These resources were meant to benefit other areas, but they ended up being redirected to Kiharu for political mileage,” Ichung’wah stated during a press address in Nairobi.

The majority leader added that all MPs on the appropriation committee have been allocating money for themselves and their constituencies.

His office issued a brief statement denying any wrongdoing and asserting that all projects in Kiharu have been funded transparently through legitimate channels.

“We welcome any scrutiny of our work in Kiharu. Every shilling spent has been accounted for and aimed at uplifting the lives of our constituents,” the statement read.

The allegations come at a time of heightened political tension within the Kenya Kwanza coalition, with recent reshuffles in parliamentary committees seeing Nyoro lose his position as chair of the Budget and Appropriations Committee earlier this month.

Political analysts suggest that Ichung’wah’s claims may be linked to internal power struggles as factions vie for influence ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Kiharu Constituency has gained national attention for its extensive school renovation projects, with Nyoro overseeing the refurbishment of all 112 public primary schools and significant upgrades to secondary schools using NG-CDF funds.

His efforts have earned him accolades, including a 2023 Infotrak ranking as Kenya’s best-performing MP.

However, Ichung’wah’s accusations cast a shadow over these achievements, suggesting that the funds may not have been entirely sourced from Kiharu’s allocation.
