Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has openly challenged his former partner, President William Ruto.
He is accusing the government of putting too many loans on the people of Kenya while wasting taxpayers’ money on unnecessary luxuries and political show-offs.
Nyoro made these strong statements during a public speech in Murang’a County, showing a clear divide between him and the president, whom he used to support.
Nyoro, who is a well-known member of the ruling party, criticized how the government is borrowing money.
He claimed that the money is being used for unimportant things instead of solving real economic problems that people are facing.
“Our people are struggling, yet we borrow billions to pay for political games and luxuries,” Nyoro said, receiving cheers from the crowd.
His comments come at a time when many people are unhappy about Kenya’s growing debt and how the government spends money.
Experts believe that Nyoro’s remarks might indicate a bigger disagreement within Ruto’s group as people feel more pressure from the economy.
