Opposition leader Raila Odinga has denied claims that he has made a coalition agreement with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA). He has made it clear that his party is not involved in any such deal.
Speaking in Homa Bay, Odinga explained that the recent comments by Siaya Governor James Orengo, who is against teaming up with UDA, reflect the united opinion of their political group.
Raila Odinga, an important figure in Kenyan politics and the leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), stressed that there have been no talks or agreements with the ruling UDA party.
“Governor Orengo’s words express our shared viewpoint. We are committed to our beliefs and will not join with UDA,” Odinga said.
He also stated, “We don’t have any Coalition Agreement with UDA. James Orengo must be respected; he speaks for all of us.”
Raila also called out journalists, saying that no one can divide the Luo people, insisting, “We are one! We don’t need KERRA and KURA!” He supported Orengo’s stance against President Ruto.
This denial comes as there are speculations about possible political changes before the 2027 general elections, with experts noting that Kenya’s coalition politics can change quickly.
