Luka Modrić to leave Real Madrid after Club World Cup match

Luka Modrić, the talented Croatian football player, has announced that he will leave Real Madrid after the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.

During his time at Real Madrid, he won 28 trophies, including six Champions League titles and one Ballon d’Or award.

He will play his final match at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium this weekend.

Even though Modrić wanted to stay at the club and there was interest from coach Xabi Alonso, the club’s management decided not to renew his contract.

When Modrić steps onto the pitch for the last time, fans will celebrate his amazing legacy, which will always be remembered by the club.

Here is Luka Modrić’s message to the Real Madrid fans:

“Dear Madrid fans,

The time has come for me to say goodbye. This is a moment I never wanted, but in football, everything has a beginning and an end. I will play my last match at the Santiago Bernabéu on Saturday.

I joined Real Madrid in 2012, eager to wear the shirt of the best team in the world and hoping to achieve great things. I could not have imagined how incredible my journey would be.

Playing for Real Madrid has changed my life, both as a player and as a person. I am very proud to have been part of such a successful time at this amazing club.

I want to thank the club, especially president Florentino Perez, my teammates, coaches, and everyone who has supported me during these years.

I have experienced incredible moments, unforgettable comebacks, finals, celebrations, and magical nights at the Bernabéu. We won many titles, and I felt very happy.

But more than the trophies, I will always treasure the love from all the Madrid fans. I cannot fully explain the special bond I share with you and how much I appreciate your support and affection. I will always remember the applause and kindness you have shown me.

I leave with a full heart, filled with pride, gratitude, and wonderful memories. Although I will no longer wear this shirt on the field after the Club World Cup, I will always be a fan of Madrid.”
