*147# Lipa SHA polepole! Ruto launch SHA flexible payments

President William Ruto has introduced a new payment system for the Social Health Authority (SHA).

During his 62nd Madaraka Day speech at the Raila Odinga Stadium, Ruto talked about the Lipa Pole Pole initiative.

This plan is designed to help people in the informal sector make their SHA insurance payments more easily.

With this new system, people can pay their annual insurance fees in smaller amounts over time. This means they can choose to pay monthly, weekly, or even daily, depending on what they can afford.

Ruto said, “We know that many people in the informal sector struggle to pay their insurance regularly. That’s why we are creating a new payment option called LIPA SHA POLE POLE. This will allow Kenyans to pay their SHA contributions through flexible payments that fit their financial situation.”

He added that this new way of paying will help families continue to get healthcare services without worrying about money. It will also help keep the health insurance fund strong.

LIPA SHA POLE POLE is made possible thanks to a partnership between the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs, Mobile Network Operators, and Financial Institutions through the Hustler Fund.

The process is straightforward and easy. People can dial *147# on their phones and follow the instructions to sign up and start making their contributions right away.
