People in Mwingi were very surprised when a man walked into the local police station carrying a big flat-screen television on his shoulder. He asked the police to help him find the missing remote control for the TV. The police officers couldn’t help but laugh when they realized that the TV had been reported stolen just a few hours earlier from a nearby electronics store.
Witnesses outside the station said the man walked down the street confidently with the TV on his shoulder, not caring about the curious looks from people around him. He even stopped to say hello to two motorcycle taxi drivers, who joked that he must have bought it during a sale.
Inside the police station, an officer asked the man where he got the TV. The man said he “borrowed” it from a friend but didn’t remember his friend’s name. This made the police suspicious, so they decided to check the TV’s serial number against the list of items that had been stolen that day. To read more click here.
