Boy,14, dies after antibiotic injection at Bombolulu Private Clinic, family seeks justice

A family in Kaloleni, Kilifi County, is seeking justice following the tragic death of their 14-year-old daughter. She passed away under mysterious circumstances shortly after getting an injection at a private hospital in Bombolulu on October 7, 2025.

A Grade Eight student from Twinkle Stars Junior Secondary School sadly passed away after experiencing complications on the way home from the hospital.

Relatives say the teenager started foaming at the nose while on the way to Mariakani and was declared dead shortly after.

Family members say that the girl, named Muthoni, went to get checked out for a cough that just wouldn’t go away, and that’s when a medic supposedly gave her an antibiotic injection.

It seems her condition got worse pretty quickly after she left the hospital.

So, there was a post-mortem done on October 8, 2025, at the Kilifi County Referral Hospital, but it didn’t really pinpoint the exact cause of death. For that reason, they’re looking into it further.

So, they’ve sent over some samples, like the foam taken from the victim’s body, to the government chemist for a thorough forensic analysis.
