Thousands Welcome Prophet David Owuor in Nakuru Ahead of Menengai Crusade

Followers of Prophet David Owuor filled the Merica Hotel in Nakuru on December 29, 2025, for a big reception. It marked the start of preparations for his end-of-year crusade at Menengai Grounds. The two-day event, called Menengai 8, runs on December 30 and 31.

Owuor arrived in the city on Sunday. His convoy caused traffic slowdowns as supporters lined the streets. Many wore white clothes, a common sight at his gatherings. The reception included prayers, singing, and people sharing stories of past healings, like claims of recovered sight or abandoned walking aids.

The ministry calls this a prelude to the main meetings. They promise a time of repentance and what they describe as divine visits. The event gets coverage on channels like Jesus Is Lord Radio and some TV stations.

David Owuor started the Ministry of Repentance and Holiness in 2004. He preaches turning away from sin and preparing for judgement. His rallies draw people from across Kenya and sometimes abroad. Past Menengai events have pulled hundreds of thousands.

Nakuru sees a boost from these visits. Hotels fill up, and vendors sell food and items to attendees. Roads near the grounds get busy early.

Not all views are positive. Some question past predictions that did not happen or how the ministry runs. Owuor keeps a strong following in parts of East Africa despite that.

For many at the reception, it felt like a fresh start near the new year. They sang and prayed for hours. Security stayed visible to manage the numbers.

The main crusade starts tomorrow. People already camp at Menengai Grounds. Buses bring groups from far places.

Owuor often holds these year-end meetings in Nakuru. The crater site has hosted several before. Followers see it as special.

Local leaders note the economic side. Small businesses do well during the days. This gathering shows Owuor’s pull remains steady. Thousands came just for the welcome.
