Political menopausal stage! Wajir North MP Ibrahim Saney Attacks Aden Duale

Wajir North MP Ibrahim Saney and Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale are engaged in a verbal battle. The MP made strong remarks against Duale, calling his stage in politics the “menopausal stage”. Saney accused him of fighting everyone to protect what he called looted wealth.

The comments came during a public event in the Northeastern region. Saney spoke in Somali, mixing in some Swahili. He said Duale’s job now is just to complain and boast about owning 2000 camels. The phrase “kazi ni kuringa” means his work is only to make noise or grumble. Saney claimed Duale picks fights with people because he wants to guard money he got wrongly.

This incident is not the first time the two leaders from the same area have clashed. Both come from Garissa and Wajir counties. They often attend the same community events, like weddings or homecomings. Recently, Saney has criticised the government on issues like drought and cost of living. He walked out during President Ruto’s speech in Parliament last year. Duale has told critics to stop being jealous and join the broad government.

Aden Duale is a big name in Kenyan politics. He was Defence Cabinet Secretary before moving to Health in a reshuffle earlier this year. He served as Majority Leader in the National Assembly for years. People see him as close to President Ruto. Duale often defends government moves, like the recent health deal with the US.

Ibrahim Saney has been MP for Wajir North since 2013. He won again in 2022 under UDA. Before politics, he worked in community groups and ran a local radio station. He speaks out on problems in the arid areas, like water shortages and insecurity.

Leaders from the Northeast sometimes fall out over appointments or projects. Many want more jobs and development for the region. Drought has hit hard this year. MPs like Saney push for it to be called a national disaster.

Duale has not replied directly to these latest remarks yet. In the past, he has brushed off critics by saying his success comes from hard work and faith. He points to youth from the area getting posts in government.

These kinds of public exchanges happen often in Kenyan politics. Clan ties play a role in the region. People follow them closely on social media and local radio.

Saney’s words spread fast online. Some clips show him speaking at the event. Others agree with him and say leaders should focus on service. Many just watch the back and forth. Politics in the area stays active. With elections far off, these fights might calm down or grow.
