The Kilifi County department of health has this morning conducted tests for Members of County Assembly (MCAs) on COVID-19 at the Assembly premises. The County Government wants to start testing on the officials.

The tests were done for Members who are scheduled to have a sitting next week to discuss and pass a memorandum from the Governor (Amason Jeffa Kingi) on the supplementary budget to appropriate funds in aid of combating the spread of Corona virus in the County. 

According to Governor Kingi, the county has projected a total amount of Ksh. 220,000,000/= which has been identified from the 2019/2020 budget and will be utilized towards the initial financing and implementation of the Kilifi County Emergency COVID-19 Social Relief Program. 

The Governor said, once approved by the County Assembly and immediately rolled out, the funds will be used to help vulnerable families in Kilifi County by providing them with food rations and other essentials during this most difficult moment of Corona Virus pandemic.
