ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna blasts Deputy President William Ruto over his recent comments that he will not be accused of stealing Covid-19 funds.

SG Sifuna said it was inappropriate for a senior government official like Deputy President publicise for not being among the COVID-19 Millionaires.

“This comment implies that it is suitable for the funds to be stolen if he is not to blame, or even more interesting, it reveals the resentment of being left out of the money sauce train,” Sifuna said.

It was not the right moments for Ruto to make such statements when he should be backing President Uhuru Kenyatta to shatter on corruption cartels within their government.

Unfortunately, DP Ruto has been bracing campaigns at his residence “while praising graft within the government he serves” rather than acting against the peril.

"We must challenge the DP to either advance to the circumstances and perform the role of a DP, or eject himself, leaving President Uhuru work in peace,” he added.

The observation by ODM came just three days after Raila and Ruto seemed united on Tuesday in denouncing the Monday arrest of three senators ahead of the dispute on the revenue-sharing formula.
