Hundreds of youths in Nyalenda, Kisumu are computing loses after corrupt men cheated them to contribute Sh 500 to meet Deputy President William Ruto.
Speaking to a local media in the county, one of the youth said the conmen persuaded them that they were funding for a one on one conversation with the DP.
They stated that the said men narrated to them that the DP will be in Kisumu on Saturday 3rd October but they have since discovered the visit has not been confirmed.
“We have now learnt that the DP’s visit to Kisumu has not even been confirmed and that the said-organisers do not even know Ruto’s protocol staff,” the victim said.
" We have learnt that the conmen were sent by some people affiliated to ODM. We are yet to establish their motives behind the deceit, " the victim added.
The youth who paid for the one on one have attempted contacting the said scammers with no success. The fraudsters have disappeared with their phones switched off.
