Anne Kananu declared the Deputy Governor of Nairobi by Members County Assembly

 

Deputy Governor nominee Anne Kananu promise to have a seamless working relationship with Nairobi Metropolitan Service(NMS) to facilitate services to be delivered to residents.


This is in contrast to impeached Governor Mike Sonko, whose bitter relationship with the NMS led to his removal.

Nairobi county assembly proposes her to be Deputy Governor and later sworn in as Nairobi Governor.


Appearing before the county assembly for her vetting on Friday, Kananu said she is ready to work with the Nairobi Metropolitan Service until their occupancy ends.

"We need to support NMS for a seamless flow of services for Nairobi residents. The outcry has been due to prior poor leadership and governance," she said.

Kananu also vowed to form a liaison committee between City Hall and NMS for a better working relationship.


The vetting exercise was conducted by the Appointments committee led by Majority Leader Abdi Guyo. He declared her as the deputy governor of Nairobi City county.
