Universal Healthcare launched by President Uhuru Kenyatta in Mombasa began in Nairobi.

The program is set to begin in the poor areas of the city.

At least 20,000 vulnerable families in Nairobi will get Sh6,000 NHIF medical cover annually.

Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) will roll out the project beginning this month.

NMS Director General, Mohammed Badi, stated that the exercise will be carried out under the Universal Healthcare Programme.

NMS Health Services Director Josephine Mbae confirmed that the Programme covers 20 per cent of Nairobi’s poorest households in its first phase.
