Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana dumps Linda Katiba just after visiting capitol hill where he had a meeting with ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The Governor said he changed his tune because the people of Makueni proposed to have BBI and his thoughts were reserved.

"Earlier today I joined my colleague Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua and MCAs from both Makueni and Machakos to deliberate on the raging constitutional amendment conversation. We agreed that MCAs should respect the will of the people who endorsed the BBI amendment proposal from the recent PP fora.

"I have listened to the voice of the people in the just concluded BBI Public Participation forums. Wananchi said the 15 Percent revenue allocation to counties had greatly transformed rural economies. In that regard, I wish to respect the will of the people and ask MCAs to do the same.

"If the Supreme Court gives an advisory against my position, I will still disagree but cannot reject the court ruling. This is my understanding of democracy and the rule of law. If I reject the decision of the people of Makueni, my only option is to resign from being a governor.

"We did public participation as county executive and fed the results to the county assembly who did theirs as the body mandated to pass or reject BBI bill. The majority approved BBI. I explained that was contra my personal position, but I was bound by the majority, " the Makueni Governor said.
