A youthful male teacher from Mwea in Kirinyaga County severe injured, admitted at Kirinyaga county hospital after he was on Wednesday slashed in the head, arms and fingers by a friend fighting for a female intern.
The victim and the suspect both teachers at Karoti Girls’ High School were seducing the same woman, who came to the school as an intern on teaching practice, their colleagues claimed.
The dispute rose to head-on on Wednesday, with the two daring each other.
The suspect reached for a machete and chopped his love contestant in the head, arms and fingers.
Mwea East OCPD, Daniel Kitavi, said the blood-soaked victim was raced to a local hospital for urgent treatment before taken to the county hospital while the attacker arrested.
“We are probing the witnesses to establish what caused the fight. However, the teachers we interrogated at Karoti Girls’ High School said the pair had fallen out after recognising they were both interested in the same woman; an intern on teaching practice at the school,” said Mwea East OCPD Kitavi.
