Nehemiah Asiago, 41, at JKIA Nairobi

Nehemiah Asiago, 41, believed of killing his son by tearing his throat using a kitchen knife detained as he attempted to flee the country to Qatar on Friday.

Nehemiah Asiago, 41, was caught as he prepared to board a Qatar-bound flight.

According to Detectives, the suspect had dodged homicide detectives since last year.

The man is said to have had a family dispute with his son before the occurrence at Bomakombi village in Suneka in June 2020.

“Byron’s brother told detectives that a fight arose after their drunk father, demanded to know what he had brought home from his day at the local centre, " detectives stated.

"Provoked by his father’s remarks since he was jobless and had gone to look for a job that didn’t materialize, Byron reacted with a similar question to his father, asking him what he had to show for his day’s activities other than returning home in a drunken stupor. The reaction resulted in a fight, that led to his death,” the DCI added.

Since then, Nehemiah has been quietly operating between Nakuru and Nairobi counties until Friday evening when detectives smashed him as he was planning to fly out.
