Simon Harold Shiels will face manslaughter charges after it was revealed that he may have purposefully killed his Kenyan spouse Jacinta Njoki by wrecking a motorcycle she was riding.

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) authorized the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to took over the file and prosecute the accused with death, according to the Daily Nation.

After additional examinations and re-recording of confessions, Kilifi County Criminal Investigation Officer Noah Katumo said it was clear that the immigrant had a valid case.

"We started looking into it, and the evidence is pointing to murder," Katumo added.

Shiels is already in police custody as the investigation continues.

She had rejoined her husband at their farm in Kaoyeni village on the sad day that the mother of two perished.

After an alleged quarrel, Njoki allegedly fled the farm on the same motorcycle that had carried her.

An enraged Shiels is claimed to have pursued the woman in his Mitsubishi, despite the fact that the boda boda rider sought to elude him.

After they fell into a ditch, he ran over them. Later, Njoki was transported to the hospital, where she was declared dead.

The boda boda rider and the woman's children are among the respondents who have previously given testimony in the case.
