West Brom, an English Championship team, fired manager Steve Bruce

West Brom, an English Championship team, fired manager Steve Bruce on Monday after eight months at the helm, leaving the team in danger of relegation.

The 61-year-old ex-Newcastle manager secured an 18-month deal with the Hawthorns in February, but he only managed to win eight of his 32 matches.

West Bromwich Albion said in a statement, "West Bromwich Albion and manager Steve Bruce have parted ways."

"Backroom employees Alex Bruce (Bruce's son), Steve Agnew, and Stephen Clemence have all departed the Hawthorns."

"The club wishes to thank Steve Bruce and his coaching team for their contributions since their arrival in February," the statement reads.

The club announced that the hiring process for a new manager had begun.

The former Manchester United defender led West Brom for a long time and got them four promotions to the Premier League. However, they are now 22nd in the Championship with only one win in their first 13 league games.

They are now eyeing relegation, which means the management had to sack the manager to withstand the championship tribulations.
