Catherine Kasavuli death photo

Catherine Kasavuli, a well-known figure in Kenyan media for many years, has passed away. Kasavuli, 60, passed away at Kenyatta National Hospital early Friday morning after a long battle with cancer.

Samuel Maina, who is serving as the managing director of KBC, was the one to announce the news of her passing.

Kasavuli, who had only just spoken publicly about her struggle with cervical cancer, lost her fight with the disease on Thursday night in Nairobi.

People say that Ms. Kasavuli broke the glass ceiling for female TV journalists in the country because she was the first woman to be a TV news anchor in the country.

Kasavuli was a well-known face on Kenyan TV screens as an anchor during her long, successful career, which lasted from the 1990s to 2015. She worked for most of Kenya's major TV stations, such as Citizen TV, the state broadcaster KBC, and KTN.

Kasavuli returned to KBC in 2020. She hosted the Legend Edition on the number one broadcasting channel.

Before her death, she told her family to be together: "Get together and unite."
