a witchdoctor from Kisumu County, to retrieve the stolen motorbike in Mbeere Embu county
Witch-doctor tactics

On Valentines day 2023, a 40-year-old man from Siakago, Mbeere North sub-county, Embu County, suffered to death after reportedly not sticking to a witchdoctor's orders.

David Ngare's (dead) brother Daniel Ireri's motorbike was stolen on February 9 at his residence, and he promptly filed a case at the Siakago Police Station, based on a police statement.

Unsatisfied even after notifying the police, the family opted to hire Collins Kech, a witchdoctor from Kisumu County, to retrieve the stolen motorbike.

On February 14, the witchdoctor went to visit the household, and at around 11:30 a.m., he performed his witchcraft and informed the family members that the findings would be available in three hours.

In addition, he commanded everyone there that no one may consume alcohol or leave the premises before three hours elapsed.

After issuing the instructions, the powerful witchdoctor departed for Kisumu.

Christine Nzula, Ireri's wife, accompanied him, and when she came home, Ngare had departed with another family member, Elkana Muthomi, for an undisclosed location.

According to the directions supplied by the sorcerer, this action was improper.

As their phones were unresponsive, Ireri went to the Gatito shopping area to double-check on the two, but he was unable to locate them.

He escalated the hunt by hiring a boda boda driver to take him to the BAT area, but before they reached the center, they saw an unidentified guy on a motorcycle that Ngare had purchased after Ireri's motorcycle was stolen.

Taking the two bikes, they traveled to Mwondu Center, where they discovered David Ngare and Elkana Muthomi rendered speechless and defenseless.

Ngare was partially covered.

"With the two bikes, the two were transported back home, although they were quite weak and had to be secured to the motorcycles," the police statement said.

Christine Nzula contacted the witch doctor to intercede when she was at home. The witch doctor requested an additional Ksh 20,000, which was transferred to his M-Pesa account instantly.

Nonetheless, the witch doctor declared that it was too late, and only Muthoni reacted favorably, while Ngare succumbed.

The deceased's corpse was transported to the Embu Level 5 Hospital mortuary in preparation for an autopsy.
