Kisumu hungry protesters

An official conference that was being officiated by Communications Authority (CA) Director General Ezra Chiloba was interrupted on Wednesday in Kisumu by irate Azimio la Umoja demonstrators.

Eliud Owalo, the ICT Cabinet Secretary who was supposed to oversee the meeting, failed to appear, so Chiloba stepped in.

As the protesters barged in, Chiloba had just finished speaking at a news conference, but he had apparently departed.

The protesters then fled forward towards the tents and also the main stage, terrifying the remaining merchants and attendees.

Then they descended onto regions that contained food, water, juices, and other foods.

When the boisterous adolescents yelled anti-Eliud Owalo chants, service providers rushed to safeguard the safety of their equipment, including tents, chairs, and music systems.

To safeguard the safety of the participants, DCC Kisumu Central, Hussein Hussein, and other security personnel responded to the location after receiving a notification from the protesters.

Local leaders, including Kisumu Central MP Joshua Oron and Deputy Governor Dr Mathew Owili, had previously organized a resistance movement from Kondele to the state lodge.

Protesters carried sufurias, twigs, and anti-Kenya Kwanza government signs as they marched.

The leaders pledged to continue to demonstrate against President William Ruto's administration and announced that there will be one more gathering in the county on Friday before the demonstrations on Monday, January 20, in Nairobi.
