A "bishop" in Mbita, Homa Bay, who recently guided his flock to a beachfront where a human skull was found, is now on the run.

Charles Ododo said that God had given him the assignment to find a human skull.

The event happened in Kasgunga East Sub Location's Luanda Nyamasare Beach.

He told the crowd that while he was praying at night, God told him that he would find a human skeleton in the sea.

A police statement says that the bishop was welcomed to Easter services at a church in Gembe West Location on Saturday.

He asserted having seen a revelation when he was in the church during the prayers. He said that during the vision, God showed him a human skull that was lying on the lake's beach.

On Sunday morning, his flock decided to go to the beach with him. In order to get the skull, he lured them into the lake. The group then travelled to the shoreline, where they lit the skull on fire.

Francis Kasuku, who is the assistant chief of the Kasgunga East Sub-location, says that people started talking about the issue online, which got people's attention.

"In the neighbourhood, word spread quickly. I was concerned about why Christians were acting in such a way," he explained. Police assistance was required from Mr. Kasuku.

He contacted them so they could ask the pastor and the people in his congregation why they had been destroying the skull.

But the bishop had vanished even by the time the police showed up. The search for him was fruitless.

Mr. Kasuku, on the other hand, talked to people who were there, and they told him that the bishop was behind the strange ceremony.

He was informed that when the commotion started, a pastor from a nearby church had asked the bishop to offer Easter prayers.

Police sent the skull to the Homa Bay County Teaching and Referral Hospital as part of the probe in order to establish whether or not it is human.

"In anticipation of a forensic examination, it was held in the mortuary." "No one has been abducted and murdered from his region," according to Mr. Kasuku.
