President William ruto on wage bill

During the third national wage bill conference at the Bomas of Kenya, President William Ruto announced that 2,100 civil servants with fake academic certificates must resign.

This decision aims to reduce the public wage bill and address the issue of individuals in government positions with fraudulent qualifications.

The announcement sparked discussions on social media, with some questioning the government's approach to tackling corruption and the authenticity of its own officials' qualifications.

President William Ruto has raised alarm over the existence of approximately 2,100 individuals who have falsified their academic qualifications to secure government employment.

Thousands of government support staff could be the first to lose their jobs due to several decisions aimed at tackling Kenya's growing public wage bill. Public servants with fake academic certificates will be the initial casualties.
