After NEMA closed 43 clubs over noise pollution, residents want churches and mosques closed

Some Kenyans are angry that the Nairobi County Liquor Licensing Board has banned 43 pubs because they are a nuisance.

According to Kenyans, law enforcement agencies should also shut down houses of worship in residential neighbourhoods that are contributing to noise pollution.

“They seek to close pubs that are close to residential areas, yet they overlook the noise that churches and mosques make in the same areas. Noise is noise,”  @ fels1 tweeted.

” Why build 10 loudspeakers for a chapel with only 30 sheep in a 20-by-10-meter building?

 

” It becomes much more awful when you visit informal communities where 30 similar churches may be found within 200 meters of one another, all of which are shouting at the same deity on their day off. Buana, noise is noise,” he continued in a thread.
