According to reports, President William Ruto will reshuffle the cabinet significantly, eliminating about seven ministries.
According to a front-page publication by a local media outlet citing State House sources, the reorganization will reduce the current 22 ministries to 15.
The remaining ministries encompass crucial portfolios, including:

The reshuffle will also introduce new ministries: Ministry for Water, Forestry, and Environment; Ministry of Tourism; Culture; Youth and Sports; Ministry of Infrastructure; Lands, Housing, Public Works, Roads; Ministry of Economic Planning; MITI; SME Cooperatives; Delivery Unit; ICT; and the Attorney General.
On Tuesday, President Ruto held a Cabinet meeting at State House, Nairobi, which was described as potentially the ‘last supper’ for seven Cabinet secretaries.
This anticipated lineup will result in the loss of jobs for 15 principal secretaries and the elimination of roles for 43 parastatal chiefs.
Treasury will profile parastatals with overlapping mandates in preparation for the relocation of some parastatals to parent ministries as departments.
