Capital Fm, Qwetu Radio among stations listed for closure by communication Authority

Capital FM, NRG Radio, One FM, Mbaitu FM, Mudzi Fm, Qwetu Radio are among 60 radio frequencies on the verge of being cancelled by the Communications Authority of Kenya.
In a notice dated December 22, CA Director-General Ezra Chiloba pointed out that the verdict was realized after the broadcasters failed to conform with the license offer within the offer period as stipulated by the Authority and in conformity with the Kenya Information and Communications Act, 1998.

“Take notice that the Authority has commenced regulatory actions against the following listed broadcasters and applicants of broadcasting service provisioning licenses for failure to comply with the relevant requirements as provided for in the Act,” Chiloba started
“In accordance with Section 46C of the Kenya Information and Communications Act, 1998, it is illegal to provide any form of broadcasting service in Kenya without a licence issued by the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA).”
