The public will have access to the outcomes of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) 2023 today, Thursday, November 23, 2023.
The Ministry of Education has announced that CS Ezekiel Machogu will preside over the event, which is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. in the new Mitihani House located in South “C” on the campus of the Kenya National Examinations Council.
As the government moves towards completely replacing the 8-4-4 educational model, the 2023 class was the last one to take the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education examinations.
In 2023, there were more than 1.4 million people who registered to take the test.
Machogu, while speaking on Tuesday in Nairobi, announced the successful completion of the examination conducted between the 30th of October and the 1st of November.
There were no instances of dishonesty whatsoever. There were no instances of any form of unethical behaviour.
Out of 1,415,315 applicants, we identified only six instances as attempts to cheat. He said that out of 1,415 applicants, there were only six examples that fit the criteria that we were looking for.
Machogu said that there were 252 instances of test misconduct during the presentation of the KCPE results from the previous year.
He reported that the applicants participated in the vice at all nine of the test locations.
According to what the CS said at the time, the applicants who participated in illegal activities did not get any marks in the relevant courses.
It was determined that a total of 252 applicants at nine different testing locations participated in unethical behaviour throughout the examination process.
These candidates have received a score of zero in the disciplines in which they committed academic dishonesty.
He remarked when publishing the results on December 21, 2022 that the overall scores of the negatively impacted students would be calculated by deducting the mark granted in the concerned subject from the total mark.
