Three parties have been excluded from William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza coalition: Amason Kingi’s Pamoja African Alliance and Alfred Mutua’s Maendeleo Chap Chap.
The Democratic Party of Speaker Justin Muturi was also kept out due to inefficiencies in filing papers with the Registrar of Political Parties.
The three were given till March 26 to present their papers. They filed the paperwork between April and May, which resulted in their disqualification.
Kenya Kwanza Coalition Registrar Anne Nderitu revealed in a statement released that just 11 political parties are members.
ORPP’s duty, according to Nderitu, is to register, manage, and oversee political parties’ funds.
They include; United Democratic Alliance, Amani National Congress and Forum for the Restoration of Democracy-Kenya.
Others are; Chama Cha Kazi(KAZI), Communist Party of Kenya(CPK), Devolution Party of Kenya(DPK), Economic Freedom Party(EFP), Farmers Party(FP), The Service Party(TSP), Tujibebe Wakenya Party(JIBEBE), and Umoja na Maendeleo Party(UMP).
