The proof that was used to indict the politician was determined to have been unlawfully acquired by Chief Magistrate Felix Kombo of the Anti-Corruption Court at the Milimani Law Courts.
In response to allegations that their client had illegally gotten his papers, Sudi’s legal team maintained that their client had the necessary academic qualifications.
They expressed their gratitude to the court for taking their arguments and facts into consideration in their challenge to the case.
“I just want to let everyone know that we value the court’s procedure. Our customer has shown tremendous patience throughout this process, which has lasted close to eight years. Furthermore, the court has now determined that our client is innocent of all accusations and charges,” the judge said.
“His innocence has been upheld. We appreciate the court’s careful review of the presented information and its determination that the claims were unfounded.” Thomas Ruto, a lawyer for Sudi, said that their client is competent and does not possess a fraudulent certificate.
In 2016, charges were brought against the outspoken legislator for allegedly submitting fake paper in his pursuit of approval to stand in the 2013 general election from the IEBC and the EACC.
Among his charges was the fabrication of official documents, including a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, a diploma in business management from what he said was the Kenya Institute of Management, and a high school graduation certificate from Highway High School.
