On Saturday, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, wife of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, joined hundreds of clergy members in praying for the conclusion of the doctors’ strike, which is now in its fourth week throughout the country.

This took place at Deliverance Church in Langata, where hundreds of clergy members had assembled to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Bishop Dr. Wilson Mamboleo’s life and the 70th year of his ministry.

“With the control and influence that we possess, we are able to alter the environment. We beseech God to find a peaceful resolution. It is our hope that the strike will be over shortly. Our prayers are for communication,” she stated.

While Dr. Mamboleo phoned him and cheered him while he was Minister for Education and there was a teachers’ strike that had paralyzed education in the country at the time, former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, who was also there, recounted how Dr. Mamboleo had contacted him.

He reiterated the comments expressed by Pastor Dorcas, who said that the church needed to pray for those being treated during the walkouts organized by physicians.

According to Kalonzo, “the good thing concerning protests is that they do not last forever, but they live behind terrible scars.”

“We have a reason to pray as a religious organization while doctors are on strike so that we do not lose a significant number of people.” “If we do not take action at this time, it will be unfortunate for the country.”

The receipt of monetary gifts and the acquisition of the tens of books that Bishop Mamboleo has published over his seventy years in the ministry made the establishment of a support fund possible.

While Mama Rachel Ruto was away from the nation, the office of the First Lady was present at the occasion to represent the First Lady.

The other leaders in attendance were Pastor Prince Obasi-ike, Apostle William Kimani, Bishop Kepha Omae, Rev. Phoebe Mugo, Bishop Geoffrey Njuguna, Bishop George Mamboleo (son), Archbishop Arthur Kitonga, Archbishop Henry Mulandi, Bishop William Tuimising, Bishop JB Masinde and Wife, MSCK CEO Ezekiel Mutua, and Pastor Prince Obasi-ike.
