On Wednesday, July 12, 2023, the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition party will stage more anti-government demonstrations.
Speaking after nationwide rallies on Friday, Azimio leader Raila Odinga predicted that the Saba Saba rallies would serve as the “beginning” of a national uprising resulting in President William Ruto’s ouster.
“I would want to use this chance to thank Kenyans from all across the nation who responded to our appeal and showed up in significant numbers. Since this is only the starting point, we encourage them to respond “tuned,” said Raila.
“The Kenyan people are free to picket, protest, and file petitions. To discredit this government, we’ll gather signatures from Kenyans, set up an election commission, and hold a referendum.”
Opiyo Wandayi, the minority leader in the National Assembly, stated that until their demands are addressed, opposition lawmakers will not stop protesting.
“The entire nation would come to a stop the next Wednesday when Kenyans from every aspect of life took part in large rallies across the entire nation, ” Wandayi informed the police.
