Six tourists escaped death after Safari Link plane develop mechanical problems in Masai Mara game reserve

At least 6 tourists escaped death after their aeroplane crash-landed and killed two wildebeests in Masai Mara. The plane allegedly belongs to Safari Link had an engine failure and the pilot had no option than landing the plane on the Game reserve airstrip.

The incident happened at Kichwa Tembo in the world-famous Masai Mara Game Reserve.No casualties were recorded in the accident involving a Safarilink plane. Mara Triangle Tourism officer David Top said the plane’s tyre came out, making it veer off the runway at the park’s airstrip.

“It was around 10.30am when the plane developed a mechanical hitch, speeding and hitting a herd of wildebeests,” said the official.

“The aircraft was carrying out our scheduled service with a routing Nairobi (Wilson) – Maasai Mara -Nairobi (Wilson), All passengers and crew on board are safe.” read the statement seen by BANA MEDIA.

Masai Mara rescue team was deployed to the airstrip, all got minor injuries as reported.
