Standard group workers have set up auto-songs and advertisements across all media channels, and they are currently waiting for confirmation from management regarding their wages in the canteen.

In November 2023, standard-group workers received their final pay.

The Kenya Union of Journalists has criticised Standard Group, a Mombasa Road-based media company, for failing to pay its employees for ten months.

Erick Oduor, the union’s Secretary General, stated in a statement on November 9, 2023, that the organisation had been receiving distress calls from workers who were worried because they had not received their paychecks for a period of time ranging from six to ten.

He continued by saying that it is critical to expose Standard Group’s poor management practices, injustices, and human rights violations because they are active in the Kenyan media sector.

Standard Group comprises KTN, Standard newspaper, and Radio Maisha, among others.
