Makueni County Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr. states that the government is ineffective without Moses Kuria, the former Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management.
Speaking on Saturday, July 27, 2024, the county executive commended Kuria’s cerebral prowess and mentioned how much his enormous efforts have improved the nation’s electoral system.
As the governor praised the ex-CS’s efforts in government, he expressed concern over how the administration of President William Ruto would function without them, given his ability to lead the nation in the correct direction.
Kilonzo also remembered how Kuria used his computerized election handling expertise to predict the outcomes of the 2022 general elections.
“Without Moses Kuria, I don’t know how a government can function; ile sheria ambayo imeweka serikali iko sasa ya electronic management of elections imefanywa na huyu mtu. I went to see Moses Kuria to find out if Azimio would win, and that’s when I realised it wouldn’t; this is a smart guy,” he remarked.
On Thursday, July 11, 2024, President William Ruto dissolved his cabinet in order to establish a broad-based government, and Kuria was one of the CSs dismissed.
“Upon reflection, listening keenly to what the people of Kenya have said, and after a holistic appraisal of the performance of my Cabinet and its achievements and challenges, I have, in line with the powers given to me by Article 152(1) and 152(5)(b) of the Constitution and Section 12 of the Office of the Attorney-General Act, decided to dismiss with immediate effect all the Cabinet Secretaries and the Attorney-General from the Cabinet of the Republic of Kenya except the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs,” Ruto announced at the time.
