CS Moses Kuria, who is in charge of trade, chooses June Chepkemei, who used to work for Kass TV, to be the interim managing director of the Kenya Investment Authority (KenInvest).
In a statement released on Tuesday, January 31, Kuria praised the communication specialist and talked about the great things she had done in many different organizations.
A part of the statement says, “The appointment gives June the job of leading strategies to bring in and grow investments to Kenya from the current Ksh62.2 billion (USD500 million) to Ksh1.2 trillion (USD10 billion) by the end of 2023.”
Chepkemei is a well-known business correspondent, and she was just named one of the Top 25 Women in Digital 2021.
During her time as a worker in the media sector, which lasted for six years, she worked her way up to the position of business news editor from that of a TV and radio talk show presenter.
“I am very grateful to Moses Kuria for entrusting me with the monumental responsibility of marketing Kenya as an attractive location for business investment. I am prepared to be of service,” she stated after her appointment.
Before she was given this job, she was the Manager of Marketing and Corporate Communications at the Konza Technopolis Development Authority.
She was the driving force behind the Konza Innovation Ecosystem Initiative, which was the company’s attempt to bring together the different players the sector had.
