An undetermined number of high-ranking police personnel have been seen visiting the house in Karen, Nairobi, where Dr. Fred Matiang’i, a former cabinet secretary for the Interior Ministry, resides.
It is now unknown what the purpose of the nighttime security operation at the residence of the former minister of security was.
Sources have uncovered evidence suggesting that the former CS is now barricaded in the residence with a team of lawyers headed by Danstan Omari.
Raila Odinga, the leader of the opposition, arrived at the residence of the former cabinet secretary at approximately 10:00 p.m. and harshly admonished the security operation, describing it as “completely unacceptable.”
“At this late hour of the night, there is no justification for the police to go to the residence of a suspect.”
“If there is evidence that Matiang’i has committed a crime that justifies his arrest, it has to be made public, and it needs to be made known to him so that he may submit himself for questioning,” added Odinga.
Odinga added that the police claims that the former Minister has crucial documents involving land matters and several other important evidence.
