MCSK notifies Kileleshwa police on NCBA bank royality protests

The Music Alliance of Kenya/MCSK crew is gearing up for a march that’s less about the music and more about the money. They’ve given Kileleshwa Police Station a heads-up about their “peaceful demonstration” on August 30, 2024.

Starting at 10:00 AM from the MCSK office, they’ll be parading their grievances all the way to NCBA Bank’s Westlands branch.

Why the protest, you ask? Well, it seems NCBA’s Westlands branch has been playing a different tune when it comes to updating bank signatories for MCSK.

Following an EGM at the Blue Springs Hotel, where new directors were elected and everything was made official with a shiny CR-12 certificate, they’re lamenting what they perceive as obstructionism.

The crux of the matter is that the account manager at NCBA appears to be firmly entrenched in the past, unwilling to update the signatories. It’s like they’re still playing last year’s hit while everyone else is ready for the new album.

As a result, the MCSK members are taking their show on the road, hoping to change the playlist at NCBA. Will it be a success, or will they find themselves performing in an empty house?
