Shut up, Eugene! Osotsi rants as Azimio La Umoja split per Ruto’s plan

The Azimio La Umoja coalition-affiliated parties are now calling for the ODM Party’s removal from the alliance over Raila Odinga’s move to work with President William Ruto’s government.

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta, who serves as Azimio Chair, has called a meeting to discuss the coalition’s future, according to three parties—PPNU, Jubilee, and DAP-K.

They want to explore options that would better enable the coalition to oversee and keep the Kenya Kwanza administration in check.

Speaking during a church service in Kirinyaga on Sunday, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka said while it’s a democratic right for members to align themselves with the opposition or government, President William Ruto is now running an unconstitutional government following the recent Gen Z protests.

“We think our coalition partners are just playing dramatic, and ODM is not ready for such drama,” DPL Sen. Godfrey Osotsi said.

“As we speak, ODM has the highest number of MPs professing and committed to Azimio’s ideals and principles. The majority of MPs from various coalition parties have long aligned themselves with Kenya Kwanza in Parliament,” according to Gladys Wanga, the ODM Chairperson.

“ODM will not accept any continued attempts to use Raila Odinga as a human shield, any continued attempt to arm-twist him into endorsing anybody at this stage, or any continued attempt to use him as an excuse for the failure of leadership in individual constituent parties,” Wanga added.

“ODM, the largest party in the coalition, will not allow smaller parties to intimidate us. We have established structures and systematically conducted our operations. To my brother Eugene Wamalwa: You have no locus standi to lecture us on anything. Shut up, Eugene,” Osotsi added.

“Pres. Uhuru Kenyatta is a statesman who can speak to Raila Odinga freely and at any time,” said Hon. Rosa Buyu.
