The order to solve the ongoing incidents that have occurred at Nithi Bridge on the Meru-Embu highway, which have resulted in the loss of a significant number of lives over the course of an extended period of time, the Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA) has proposed three primary solutions.
Building a new bridge would be necessary to reduce the severe horizontal bends and pronounced slopes that currently make the route dangerous for vehicles.
Redesigning the bridge would accomplish this.
This alternate road, which is now in bad shape, might be improved in order to create a safer detour around the hazardous bridge location. The Old Marima Road is currently in use.
KeNHA is now collaborating with community members and those in positions of authority in order to identify the most effective method for delivering a long-term solution.
