Mossad kills Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut bombing

An Israeli bombing on Beirut resulted in the death of Hassan Nasrallah, the head of the Hezbollah terrorist group, according to the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) on Saturday.

Hezbollah officially announced the death of its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, in a statement.

Hezbollah released a statement, saying, “His Eminence, the Master of Resistance, the righteous servant, has passed away to be with his Lord and to His pleasure as a great martyr, a heroic, daring, brave, wise, insightful, and faithful leader, joining the caravan of martyrs of the eternal, luminous Karbala in the divine, faith-based path in the footsteps of the prophets and martyred imams.”

On Saturday, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) said that they had resumed their attacks against Hezbollah installations in Lebanon.

Israeli forces have struck over 140 targets since Friday night. According to the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), these targets include missile launchers that target Israeli civilians, buildings that store weapons, strategic weaponry, weapons production facilities, and additional terrorist infrastructure sites, some embedded underneath residential buildings in the Beirut area.

On Friday, Israel launched a massive bombardment on the main Hezbollah headquarters in the southern suburbs of Beirut with the intention of destroying the facility. According to reports from Lebanese media, the strike resulted in the destruction of six residential structures.

According to reports filed by the Israeli Defence Force (IDF), the Israeli air force carried out an attack on the Hezbollah Central Headquarters, which is situated under an apartment complex in a residential area of Beirut.

Nasrallah was born on the outskirts of Beirut in 1960. He attended a Shia seminary in the city of Baalbek to further his education. Nasrallah joined Hezbollah shortly after its establishment in 1985.

An Israeli attack in 1992 killed Abbas Al Musawi, Nasrallah’s predecessor and a co-founder of Hezbollah, paving the way for Nasrallah to take leadership of the group.

In the time that Nasrallah was in charge, Hezbollah was able to obtain long-range missiles that were capable of reaching northern Israel; it assisted its ally Syria in its fight against rebels supported by the West; and it earned popularity in the area.
