A video has surfaced showing President William Ruto committing to contribute cash for the repair of the Nithi Bridge while touring the Meru area in 2023.
In the video, President William Ruto acknowledges the many incidents that occur on the Nithi Bridge and provides the people with the assurance that the government is working on plans to redirect the traffic away from the hazardous region.
Only after a horrific accident at the Nithi Bridge claimed the lives of at least twelve adults and children did the film come to light again.
Because of the video, public concern about the Nithi Bridge’s security and government progress has increased.
In the video that is currently making the rounds on social media, Deputy President William Ruto commits to repairing the bridge in order to keep people from losing their lives on the road that leads to Meru County.
A tragic accident at the bridge, which claimed the lives of at least twelve people, including children and adults, led to the rediscovery of the film.
During his visit to the Meru area in 2023, Deputy President William Ruto admitted that the Nithi bridge has been responsible for an excessive number of deaths due to accidents.
He also declared that the government was in the process of providing funding to reroute the road away from the valley.
