It was not me! DL tycoon David Langat distances himself from Morara Kebaso’s arrest

Eldoret tycoon David Langat has taken a new position against the contentious detention of political activist Morara Kebaso.

According to a charge sheet that is circulating, Langat said on Tuesday that he did not file a complaint against Kebaso.

A portion of the statement from DL Group of Companies Limited said, “Our Chairman has recorded a statement at the DCI Headquarters this morning on invitation from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, DCI, and reiterated that he has nothing to do with the authors or content of the subject online posts.”

“As a result, he has demanded an urgent investigation into the situation.”

In a post on his X account on September 28, Kebaso allegedly engaged in cyber harassment, according to the charge sheet. The charge sheet deemed the message to contain false information and was intended to damage Langat’s reputation.

Kebaso stated in the post: “William Ruto contacted DL Langat and informed him that the campaign urgently needs more funding.” To support his buddy, DL Langat took out large loans and secured them with his homes.

“Banks are now holding auctions for DL Langat properties, and William Ruto is the buyer. To make matters worse, William Ruto has inflated the properties’ worth in order to purchase them for less money. That is the kind of individual we are interacting with. He is friendless.”

Kebaso was released on a Ksh.50,000 cash bond, and the matter is scheduled to be mentioned on October 4.

This came after his stunning arrest on Monday, which sparked significant outrage among Kenyans.
